Get Vantage.

Drop in a shoot, get back the keepers. Culling runs entirely on your own machine — your photos never leave it unless you say so.

v0.23.1 · macOS & Windows · beta
Mac: Apple silicon (M1 or later), macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later. Signed & notarised by Apple.
Windows: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
Installing on Windows — expect this screen

Windows will show a blue “Windows protected your PC” box when you run the installer. That's expected. Here's what to click:

  1. Run Vantage-Setup.exe
  2. On the blue box, click More info
  3. Click Run anyway

Why it happens: Vantage is a new product from a new company and the Windows installer isn't code-signed yet — a certificate is something we'll add as the beta grows. It's not a sign anything's wrong with the file. On Mac there's no warning at all — it's signed and notarised by Apple.

Install

Mac: open Vantage.dmg and drag Vantage into Applications.

Windows: run Vantage-Setup.exe and follow the installer.

Open it

Mac: double-click Vantage. It's signed and notarised by Apple, so it opens straight away — no security warnings.

Windows: the installer isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info, then Run anyway. This is expected during the beta — we're working on a signing certificate.

On both platforms Vantage keeps itself up to date automatically.

First launch — the engine downloads

Vantage fetches its local AI engine (about 1.4 GB) the first time it runs. Give it a few minutes on good Wi-Fi — after that, everything works offline.

Sign in and cull

Create your account in the app, drop in a folder from a real shoot, and watch it sort. Keyboard the review (K to keep, R to reject), grade with one click, export.

What you need to run it

Vantage does its culling on your machine, not in the cloud — so the specs matter. No graphics card is required: it runs on the CPU and uses the GPU when there is one. More CPU cores make culling faster.

Graphics cardNot requiredAny modern GPU

On first launch Vantage downloads a one-off ~1.4 GB culling engine, so you'll want a reasonable connection for that first run. App updates afterwards are small. Below the minimum, Vantage will still try to run — but expect it to be slow, and very large shoots may run out of memory.

Beta tester?

If you've been given a beta code, choose a plan inside the app and enter it under "Add promotion code" at checkout — it gives you Vantage free for your trial period. Cancel anytime from your account.

Stuck? In the app, open Help & support and send a message — tick "attach a diagnostic log" so we can fix it fast. Or email support@vantagecull.com. A real person (Harry) reads every message.
