Vantage makes the first pass through a shoot. It scores every frame, collapses the bursts down to the one that worked, and hands you a shortlist to review. Cars, weddings, property, events, portraits.
These are frames from one of my own jobs, scored and grouped exactly the way the app does it.
It isn't a blur filter. It looks at framing, sharpness on the subject itself, which frames repeat, and what each shot is actually of, then splits the shoot into keep, review and cut.
It learned on real shoots that were graded frame by frame, so it reads composition, light, angle and whether the subject is actually sharp. Keep, review and cut is where you start, not where you finish.
It works out what the shot is (front three-quarter, low rear, interior detail, kitchen, twilight exterior) and groups the near-identical ones, so you choose from each angle once instead of scrolling through forty versions.

Put the look you already use on every keeper in one pass: exposure, colour, straightening, and plate or face blurring for listings. Drag the divider to see it.
Put the keepers in a private gallery the client can look through and download from, full size or web size, with a password and an expiry date.
Send the keepers out as files in a folder, as Lightroom XMP sidecars or a catalog write, or as a listing set with the hero first, resized and watermarked.
You tell it what kind of shoot you are on and that changes what counts as a keeper. A wedding and a dealership walkaround are not judged by the same rules.
Dealership work, classics, detailing. It knows the walkaround, the low three-quarter, the interior details and the engine bay, and it blurs plates on the way out.
Track days, race meetings, parties and live music. It finds the panning shots that actually came out sharp, which is most of the work on a day like that.
Estate agency, new build and interiors. It tells rooms apart, straightens the verticals and puts the set in listing order with the exterior first.
Prep, ceremony, speeches, first dance. It keeps the frame where the eyes are open and the faces are sharp, and throws away the four either side of it.
Headshots, family sessions and brand work. One frame per look, picked for sharpness and open eyes rather than for being first in the run.
Point it at a hard drive of family photos, holidays and screenshots and it will sort those too, into people, places, moments and things, by the day they were taken.
RAW or JPEG, any camera. If you shoot RAW and JPEG together it ignores the JPEG twins.
Frames are scored and grouped as they are read, so you can see what it is doing rather than stare at a bar.

Two things. It is told what kind of shoot it is looking at, so a dealership walkaround and a wedding are judged by different rules. And it carries on past the cull: grading, plate blurring, Lightroom sidecars and the client gallery are all in the same app.
No. It runs comfortably on a modern Mac or PC in local mode, and when you'd rather not tie up your machine you can process any shoot on a cloud GPU instead — same subscription, no add-on.
No, and I would rather say so. Vantage is in early access. The culling, grouping, grading and delivery all work and I use it on my own paid jobs, but you will find rough edges, and it is better on cars and property than it is on weddings, because that is what most of its training came from. If something is wrong, tell me and it gets fixed.
